As the festive season approaches, the Fiji Police Force is urging everyone to prioritize their safety. Beginning Friday, the police will initiate enhanced operations throughout the country to ensure public well-being during this busy time.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized the importance of individual safety in various scenarios, whether traveling, shopping, enjoying picnics by the sea, or spending time with friends. “Increased police presence will be in place for everyone’s safety, but it begins with you,” Driu remarked.

The initiative will involve collaboration with stakeholders to monitor road activities and maintain law and order across communities. ACP Driu expressed the hope for an incident-free festive period and stressed the necessity of public cooperation in achieving this goal. “We can’t do this alone; we need your support to keep everyone safe—on the roads, at sea, in towns, and at home,” he stated.

During this festive season, the police will ensure a heightened presence in cities, towns, roads, highways, schools, community areas, and popular picnic spots to promote safety.

In this vibrant season, the focus on safety provides an opportunity for community engagement, underscoring the shared role everyone plays in fostering a secure environment for all. Let’s cherish this time together while staying vigilant and supporting each other for a joyous celebration!
