As the festive season approaches, the Fiji Police Force is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety across the country. Starting this Friday, the police will begin a series of operations aimed at promoting safety during this busy time of year.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasizes the importance of safety for everyone, regardless of the activities they participate in. “We encourage everyone to be vigilant about their safety whether they are driving, shopping, enjoying picnics by the beach or rivers, or simply spending time with friends,” remarked ACP Driu.
The police will enhance their presence in various locations including towns, cities, highways, and community gatherings to help manage public safety. Driu highlighted the collaborative effort needed for maintaining order, saying, “While we are committed to ensuring safety, it starts with individual responsibility. We are here to support our community, but we cannot achieve this without the public’s cooperation.”
For an incident-free festive season, the Fiji Police are reaching out for community support to help keep everyone safe at home, on the roads, and in social settings. The proactive measures taken during this season reflect a hopeful commitment to safety and security, fostering a spirit of community and shared responsibility.
This increased police presence not only aims to deter potential incidents but also to reassure the public that their safety is a priority, paving the way for a joyful holiday experience for all.
