Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has called on the community to remain alert to safety and security threats, particularly as the Diwali celebrations approach. He emphasized that during festive times, safety concerns often take a back seat, which can unfortunately provide opportunities for criminal activity.

“This period is not just one of joy and family gatherings; it can also be a time when criminal elements see an opening to exploit the situation,” ACP Driu cautioned. He highlighted the importance of public cooperation in ensuring an incident-free celebration, reinforcing that everyone plays a critical role in their own safety and security.

“Your safety begins with you,” he stated, adding that complacency can create vulnerabilities. “We urge everyone to stay vigilant, as even minor lapses can lead to accidents or worse.”

In the spirit of Diwali, festivities should not overshadow the need for awareness. By remaining observant and proactive, community members can contribute to a safer environment for all, enabling everyone to enjoy the holiday season without undue worry.

Ultimately, fostering a culture of vigilance and responsibility can significantly enhance community safety, making this Diwali not only a time for celebration but also a testament to collective care and preparedness.
