The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has called on the public to remain alert to potential safety and security threats as the Diwali season approaches. He highlighted that safety and security concerns are frequently neglected during celebrations and festivities.
“This is also a period when criminal elements may take advantage of the joy, family gatherings, and celebrations, often leading to lapses in safety and security,” ACP Driu stated.
He emphasized that the police aim for an incident-free celebration but that public cooperation is essential in reaching this goal.
“We continuously stress that your safety and security begin with you. The first line of defense concerning your safety, as well as the security of your belongings, lies in the decisions you make,” he explained.
“Complacency opens the door for opportunists, making it easier for accidents to occur. Therefore, we urge everyone to remain vigilant about their safety and security at all times.”
