The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has called on the public to remain alert to potential safety and security threats as the Diwali season approaches. He emphasized that during celebrations and festivities, safety issues are often overlooked.
“This is a period when criminal elements may take advantage of the joy and family gatherings, as safety and security matters can be sidelined,” ACP Driu noted. He stressed that the police aim for a celebration free of incidents, but achieving this requires cooperation from everyone in the community.
“Your safety and security begin with you, as the first line of defense is the decisions you make regarding your own safety and that of your property,” he said. ACP Driu warned that complacency can create opportunities for criminals and lead to accidents, urging everyone to remain vigilant about their safety and security at all times.
