In recent months, authorities have noted an increase in individuals being reported missing, with many cases only arising when family members realize their loved ones have not been in contact for over 24 hours.
Commissioner Chew emphasized the importance of communication, advising individuals to keep their families informed about their whereabouts and plans. “Families experience anxiety when their loved ones do not return home,” he explained, highlighting that often, police become aware of a person’s absence only after the family files a report.
