The Cabinet has sanctioned a 12-month waiver of interest on state lease arrears, set to take effect from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. Lessees are encouraged to settle their rent arrears in full during this waiver period, and they will be exempt from paying any accumulated interest on those arrears. Previous interest waivers were implemented between 2014-2016, 2018, and 2020-2021.
