Rewa Football Club is making significant strides in its preseason preparations as several notable players express interest in joining the team ahead of the transfer window, which closes on January 31. The Delta Tigers are gearing up for their participation in the OFC Champions League in March, slated to take place in the Solomon Islands, during which the new signings aim to enhance their visibility on the international stage.

Leading the list of potential recruits is Mosese Nabose, a versatile player from Tailevu Naitasiri, who has already submitted a transfer application. Additionally, Fiji U19 goalkeeper Ilisoni Koro is keen to join Rewa, while defender Gabiriele Matanisiga is also looking to reunite with the team after spending the previous season at Wellington Olympic in New Zealand.

In addition to these players, Rewa is reportedly in discussions with top national goal scorer Sairusi Nalaubu and Suva’s Kavaia Rawaqa, further indicating the club’s commitment to assembling a competitive and well-rounded squad.

The current transfer window offers a critical opportunity for clubs to bolster their lineups, aligning with the Fiji Football Association’s regulations that allow teams to sign a maximum of three players from overseas or local regions each season. This initiative aims to foster local talent while enhancing the competitive nature of the league.

As the deadline approaches, excitement builds among fans and players alike, signaling a thrilling season ahead. The emphasis on local participation and development promises to rejuvenate Fijian football, potentially leading to a more vibrant and dynamic league. With the right additions, Rewa aims to strengthen its chances to defend its title and make an impact in the upcoming international competition.
