Fiji Airways Fiji Men’s 7s icon and two-time Olympic gold medallist Jerry Tuwai will be part of the Mike Friday Select 7s team for the eagerly awaited McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament, taking place from January 16-18, 2025, at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
Tuwai is celebrated for his remarkable skills and leadership on the field. He will team up with Welsh 7s player Dr. Luke Treharne, who brings significant experience from the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. Treharne has not only represented Wales on various global platforms, but he has also participated in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Rugby World Cup Sevens. His playmaking abilities and tactical expertise are expected to be vital for the Mike Friday Select 7s team.
This tournament will be historic as it marks the first occasion for Tuwai, Treharne, and other international stars, including South Africa’s Rosco Specman and Ireland’s Harry McNulty, to compete alongside one another.
