Fiji Airways Fiji Men’s 7s legend and two-time Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai is set to join the prestigious Mike Friday Select 7s team for the upcoming McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s, scheduled for January 16-18, 2025, at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. Tuwai, celebrated for his exceptional skills and leadership on the field, will team up with Welsh 7s star Dr. Luke Treharne, who is well-regarded for his extensive experience in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Treharne has represented Wales in multiple prestigious tournaments, showcasing his abilities at the Olympics, the Commonwealth Games, and the Rugby World Cup Sevens. His dynamic playmaking and tactical prowess are expected to be invaluable assets to the Mike Friday Select 7s team, adding a new layer of excitement to the tournament.
This event will be historic as it will be the first opportunity for Tuwai, Treharne, and other international stars—including South Africa’s Rosco Specman and Ireland’s Harry McNulty—to play together.
