St. Mary’s Primary School Makes a Splash at Athletics Championship!

Saint Mary’s Primary School has once again emerged victorious at the Labasa Primary School Athletics Competition, successfully defending their title by securing an impressive tally of 30 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This victory not only highlights the school’s athletic prowess but also marks their second consecutive win in this esteemed competition.

In the overall ranking, Labasa Primary School followed in second place, achieving 13 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Holy Family Primary School placed third with 11 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.

Ratu Josateki Drevakarua, an athlete from the winning team, expressed his satisfaction with the competition, stating, “We give thanks and honour to the Almighty for giving us the strength in order to defend our title.” He acknowledged the challenges of preparing for the two-day event but emphasized the crucial support from their coach, teachers, and parents that contributed to their success.

The competition saw participation from 18 schools over a dynamic three-day event, showcasing the talents and dedication of young athletes in the community.

This inspiring accomplishment not only brings pride to Saint Mary’s Primary School but also fosters a sense of unity and determination within the local educational community.
