St. Mary’s Primary School Crowns Another Victory in Athletics Showdown!

Saint Mary’s Primary School has once again emerged victorious at the Labasa Primary School Athletics Competition, successfully defending their title with an impressive tally of 30 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This achievement marks the school’s second consecutive win at the event.

Labasa Primary School secured second place with a commendable performance, earning 13 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Holy Family Primary School rounded out the top three with a total of 11 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.

Ratu Josateki Drevakarua, an athlete from the winning school, expressed his satisfaction with the competition, stating, “We give thanks and honour to the Almighty for giving us the strength in order to defend our title.” He acknowledged the challenges faced during the two-day event, highlighting the crucial role of their coach, teachers, and parents in achieving their success.

A total of 18 schools participated in this exciting three-day competition, showcasing the talent and dedication of young athletes in the region.

This remarkable win not only emphasizes the hard work of the students and their support systems but also serves as an inspiration for all schools to strive for excellence in sports. It reflects the spirit of teamwork and resilience, highlighting the positive impact of sports on young lives.
