Saint Mary’s Primary School has successfully defended its title at the Labasa Primary School Athletics Competition, securing an impressive total of 30 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This victory marks the school’s second consecutive win in this prestigious event.
Labasa Primary School achieved a commendable second place, earning 13 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Holy Family Primary School rounded out the top three with a total of 11 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.
Ratu Josateki Drevakarua, an athlete from the winning school, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to compete, stating, “We give thanks and honour to the Almighty for giving us the strength in order to defend our title.” Drevakarua acknowledged the challenges faced during preparation for the two-day competition but emphasized the vital support received from their coach, teachers, and parents.
The competition saw participation from 18 schools over a three-day period, showcasing the talent and dedication of young athletes in the region.
