Former students of St Anne’s Primary School took to the streets of Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary. The alumni organized a week of events honoring the school’s legacy, which included performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.

Miliana Caginavanua, the school’s head teacher, highlighted the event’s role in bringing together alumni, students, and parents, promoting a spirit of unity and sisterhood. “I want to express my gratitude to the former students for their involvement. They have committed to continue supporting us in the years to come,” Ms. Caginavanua stated.

She noted that alumni have pledged ongoing assistance, offering their expertise in various fields, including financial aid, administrative support, and volunteering their time and skills. Contributions from alumni spanning several decades have enhanced the school’s resources, such as providing two laptops for teachers, curtains for the library, solar lights, and books.

Ms. Caginavanua mentioned that preparations for the celebration were seamlessly integrated into the school’s curriculum, ensuring all educational objectives were met ahead of the event. She also emphasized the importance of community involvement and support in making the celebration a success and in advancing future school initiatives.
