SPTE 2025: Unlock the Secrets of Pacific Tourism in Fiji!

Registrations have officially begun for the 9th South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE), set to take place from May 9 to 10, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, located in Fiji’s vibrant tourism hub, Nadi. This event is recognized as the largest tourism gathering in the Pacific, and is currently welcoming applications from all tourism operators and stakeholders.

The theme for this year’s event is “Unity in Diversity: Exploring the Pacific’s Hidden Gems,” and over 150 international visitors are anticipated to attend, making SPTE 2025 a unique gathering.

The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), in partnership with Fiji’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, is hosting the event, providing an outstanding opportunity for sellers across the Pacific to present their remarkable offerings to a global audience.

The event will host a diverse group of participants, including national tourism offices, inbound tour operators, airlines, hotel representatives, resort owners, transport providers, and excursion operators from SPTO’s 20 member countries across the Pacific.

Participants can expect to interact with representatives from renowned destinations such as American Samoa, Cook Islands, Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Niue, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Rapanui Island, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Wallis & Futuna.

In addition to the sellers, international buyers, including travel wholesalers, agencies, planners, and online travel agencies from more than 25 major global markets—such as Australia, New Zealand, North America, the UK, Europe, China, and Asia—will gather in Fiji to establish connections and form partnerships with Pacific tourism providers.

SPTO’s Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Cocker, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship from Fiji Airways and Rosie Holiday, who have confirmed their support for SPTE 2025. This partnership reflects the commitment of sponsors to aid in the revitalization of tourism within the Pacific region.

Cocker emphasized that SPTE offers sellers a unique opportunity to engage with international buyers and showcase the authentic experiences the Pacific has to offer. It serves as a comprehensive platform for buyers to discover innovative opportunities that will enhance their travel products.

“Join us in May 2025 and be part of the future of Pacific tourism. This event will dynamically showcase the Pacific and unfold a journey rich in diverse cultures and tourism experiences,” Cocker stated.

“With registrations opening today, October 18, 2024, for this landmark event, we anticipate that SPTE 2025 will boost global awareness of the Pacific’s tourism sector and create significant opportunities for collaboration and growth.

SPTE 2025 is committed to delivering more than just business; it aims to foster enduring relationships, cultural exchange, and the development of sustainable tourism throughout the Pacific. With a focus on sustainability, this event will underscore the importance of preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage that define the Pacific.
