The America Fiji Sports Commission has made a commendable contribution of $5,000 to WOWS Kids Fiji, an organization dedicated to providing support for children battling cancer. This act of generosity highlights the ongoing efforts to improve the lives of these vulnerable children, exemplified by Commission President Narend Narayan’s commitment to this important cause.
Narayan, accompanied by Vice President Vinay Nair and other board members, presented the donation to Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel following the conclusion of the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup held in Lautoka. During this ceremony, Patel expressed his gratitude towards Narayan and the Commission for their impactful support.
“Their assistance goes beyond the realm of football, positively influencing the lives of those in need and embodying the genuine spirit of this tournament,” Patel stated. He further noted that the Fiji FA will continue its support for WOWS Kids by donating a portion of ticket sales from the event. Specifically, every ticket sold during the four-day Pacific Community Cup will contribute a dollar towards this charitable initiative.
Patel emphasized Fiji FA’s commitment to social responsibility, revealing that the organization has already donated over $60,000 to various causes, reaffirming its dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with cancer.
This initiative not only exemplifies the community’s commitment to supporting its most vulnerable members but also serves as an inspiring reminder of the positive impact that sports can have beyond the field. With such continued support and generosity, there is hope for improving the lives of many children facing health challenges.
In summary, through collaborations like these, the potential for positive change in the community continues to grow, fostering a spirit of collective goodwill and care for those in critical need.
