Temo Mayanavanua, a second-rower for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians, believes that the team’s true strength lies in their spiritual connection rather than solely in physical training. He remarked, “For me personally, I feel like spiritual visits are most important. You know in Fiji, there are only three pillars that define a Fijian: his relationship to the Vanua, his family, and his faith.”
As the squad gears up for their Pacific Nations Cup match against Samoa, Mayanavanua highlighted that spirituality transcends routine, serving as a guiding force for the players. “One message that really captured my attention was what we value most: our relationship with God, and we carry that not only on the field but off the field as well,” he stated.
The Flying Fijians are set to face Manu Samoa this Friday at 6 PM.
