Spain clinched their fourth European Championship title by defeating England 2-1 in a thrilling final at Berlin’s Euro 2024. Spain had previously won the title in 1964, 2008, and 2012.

Both teams fought hard throughout the match, but it was Spain who ultimately triumphed with some late-game drama. The first half ended without any goals, as both teams struggled to gain momentum. However, Spain shifted the dynamics of the game just a minute into the second half.

Lamine Yamal initiated a key play, passing the ball to Nico Williams who then sent it into the far corner of the England net, putting Spain ahead. England sought to equalize, and it was Cole Palmer who stepped up, scoring a remarkable long-range goal in the 73rd minute to tie the match.

As the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Mikel Oyarzabal connected with a cross from Marc Cucurella in the 86th minute, finding the net and crushing England’s hopes. This decisive goal secured the championship for Spain.
