Southern Zone Final Playoff Berth Up for Grabs in Fiji’s National Club Championship

Five teams have successfully secured their places in the final playoff stage of the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship, while one spot from the Southern Zone remains to be decided later today.

In the Southern Zone, Friends United FC dominated Group A, achieving a resounding 7-1 victory over Lami Rangers FC and managing a draw against Combine Brothers FC. Meanwhile, Combine Verata FC topped Group B with impressive performances, winning 5-0 against Police FC and 6-0 against League FC.

Combine Brothers FC is still in the running for a playoff spot, having collected four points through their victory over Lami Rangers and a draw against Friends United.

In the Western Zone, both Lautoka’s Ray United FC and Ba’s 4R FC advanced confidently from their matches held at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba. Ray United finished their series unbeaten, with two wins and a draw, while 4R FC earned six points, highlighted by a significant 5-1 triumph over Delta Army FC.

Defending champions Northpole FC from Labasa have continued their strong performance by progressing from the Northern Zone, thereby keeping their title defense hopes alive.

The final spot in the Southern Zone will be contested at 3 pm today when Combine Brothers FC faces off against Police FC, with the winner set to claim the last available position in the playoffs. This match promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the group stages, as teams aim for glory in the championship.
