South Sea Towage Limited has officially onboarded three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. The new interns, Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna, are part of a significant initiative by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD), which operates under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.
Aporosa Silatolu, the Director of CATD Nadave, emphasized the importance of this event in creating meaningful employment opportunities not just for these three individuals, but for the youth of Fiji as a whole. “The center aims to provide a platform of meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are thrilled to have welcomed our first three interns today. They represent the beginning of many more,” Silatolu stated.
21-year-old Saimoni Raikuna, who graduated a year ago from Nadave Technical School, expressed his deep gratitude for this opportunity. “I am very grateful to have been given this chance, as I never imagined it would happen. This is just the start of my career,” he remarked.
Raikuna encouraged all youth in Fiji to utilize their skills and talents for their personal development. “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t view your educational background as a barrier to achieving your dreams,” he advised.
The Nadave Technical School is one of several initiatives established by the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth in Fiji and addressing rising unemployment rates.
