South Pacific Coffee Company to Elevate Barista Competition Standards at HOTEC Tradeshow 2024

South Pacific Coffee Company (SPCC) has joined as a competition partner for the HOTEC Tradeshow 2024.

In collaboration with the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA), SPCC will play a crucial role in the Barista Competition, which aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of baristas to deliver exceptional coffee experiences to both local and international guests.

FHTA Chief Executive Officer Fantasha Lockington praised SPCC’s involvement, noting that their expertise and passion for quality coffee will offer invaluable learning opportunities for barista competitors.

SPCC Director Michael Dennis expressed honor in participating and contributing to the growth of Fiji’s hospitality sector.

“Our goal is to support baristas in refining their skills and to highlight the high-quality coffee the South Pacific can offer. We anticipate a dynamic and engaging competition,” Dennis said in a statement.

The Barista Competition at HOTEC 2024 will begin with preliminary rounds in late July, allowing baristas from across the country to compete, learn, and perfect their craft. The grand finals will be held at the HOTEC Tradeshow.

FHTA also noted that SPCC will engage in various activities throughout the tradeshow, providing insights into coffee trends, techniques, and innovations.

“We are dedicated to offering a platform for excellence and learning at HOTEC 2024. With SPCC on board, we are confident that our competitions will inspire and elevate industry standards, benefiting participants and the broader community,” Lockington said.
