New Zealand has provided an opportunity for Hoskin Sotutu after he was not selected for this year’s All Blacks. Sotutu has been included in the All Blacks XV squad for their upcoming two-match northern tour against Munster and Georgia next month.
The powerful Blues player set a record in the Super Rugby Pacific competition by scoring 12 tries as a forward during the Blues’ championship-winning season. There were speculations that Sotutu might consider switching his allegiance to Fiji, where he is eligible through his father and former test player Waisake, or to England through his mother Adelita.
Also included in the squad is Isaia Walker-Leawere, the son of former Flying Fijians captain Kele Leawere. Kini Naholo, the younger brother of ex-All Blacks winger Kini, along with Emoni Narawa, have also been selected as outside backs. George Bower, known as the “Humble Horse” and nicknamed the “Fijian Bulldozer,” has been named one of the props.
