Sonny Bill Williams, the legendary All Blacks player and boxing champion, will be the main guest at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion later this month. Boxing promoter Freddy Chand expressed enthusiasm about Williams’ visit, highlighting the crucial role of sponsors and businesses in ensuring the event’s success. Chand emphasized Williams’ appeal, encouraging community support for the promotion.

There will be a special dinner to welcome Williams upon his arrival, with tickets set at $100, and the venue is yet to be confirmed. Chand mentioned that arrangements could be made for sponsors who wish to bring Williams to Suva or involve him in promoting their brands.

In addition to the boxing event, there are plans for an awareness program that would involve sponsors and potential rugby clinics in partnership with Fiji Rugby. The fight card includes three international bouts, with notable matchups: Sebastian Singh will compete against Tonga’s Tonga Tongotongo for the IBO Asia Pacific Cruiserweight title, and his brother Ubayd Haider will face China’s Runqi Zhou for the IDO Asia Pacific Featherweight title.

Winston Hill will square off against Australia’s Lachlan O’Shea for the IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight title, while his brother Jonathan Hill will clash with Sitiveni Nawai for the Fijian Super Welterweight title. The event will feature a total of 11 bouts at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on October 26.
