Solomoni Nata has been named the chief executive officer of the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB). The appointment was announced by the Chairman of the TLTB and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, following Mr. Nata’s successful tenure as interim CEO over the past year.
During his interim period, Nata achieved several significant milestones, including the establishment of the iTaukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development facility. These initiatives aim to provide substantial support to landowning units, enhancing their economic opportunities and sustainable development.
Minister Vasu stated, “The board has observed significant advancements under Mr. Nata’s leadership over the past year. We are confident in his ability to continue driving TLTB towards greater achievements and fulfilling the board’s mandate more effectively.”
Nata has made important contributions to the reviews of laws and policies impacting the iTaukei people. His efforts have helped restore trust and strengthen relationships with chiefs and landowners. Additionally, he has improved the corporate framework, enhancing job security and capacity building for management and staff through comprehensive job evaluations.
His initiatives also include adopting new policies, diversifying investments for landowners, and facilitating the acquisition of TLTB buildings in various regions, among other achievements.
With the board’s guidance, Nata will continue to lead key reforms aimed at transforming the TLTB, ensuring it better serves the landowning units and aligns with the organisation’s mission. Nata’s appointment is set for a period of two years, and the board looks forward to continued progress and positive impact under his leadership.
