Solomoni Nata has been appointed as the chief executive officer of the iTaukei Land Trust Board.
Chairman of the iTaukei Land Trust Board and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, announced the appointment following Mr. Nata’s successful tenure as interim CEO over the past year.
During his interim period, Mr. Nata achieved several notable milestones, including the establishment of the iTaukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development Facility.
Both initiatives are designed to provide substantial support to landowning units, enhancing their economic opportunities and sustainable development.
Mr. Vasu said, “The board has observed significant advancements under Mr. Nata’s leadership over the past year. We are confident in his ability to continue driving TLTB towards greater achievements and fulfilling the board’s mandate more effectively.”
Mr. Nata has made significant contributions to the reviews of laws and policies impacting the iTaukei people.
“His efforts have helped to restore trust and strengthen relationships with chiefs and landowners. Additionally, he has bolstered the corporate framework, enhancing job security and capacity building for management and staff through comprehensive job evaluations. His initiatives also include adopting new policies, diversifying investments for landowners, and facilitating the acquisition of TLTB buildings in various regions, among other achievements,” added Mr. Vasu.
With the board’s guidance, Mr. Nata will continue to spearhead key reforms aimed at transforming the iTLTB, ensuring it better serves the landowning units and aligns with the organisation’s mission.
Mr. Nata’s appointment is set for a period of two years. The board looks forward to continued progress and positive impact under his leadership.
