Solomoni Nata has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the i-Taukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) for the forthcoming two years. The announcement came from iTLTB Chair and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, praising Nata’s successful stint as interim CEO last year.
During his time as Interim CEO, Nata initiated several notable projects, including the creation of the i-Taukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development facility, both aimed at providing crucial support to landowning entities for sustainable development and economic growth.
Vasu lauded Nata’s leadership, stating that under his guidance, the TLTB has made significant progress. He expressed confidence in Nata’s ability to continue propelling the TLTB towards further achievements.
Vasu further credited Nata for his substantial contributions to revising laws and policies that affect the iTaukei people, citing how these efforts have fostered trust and strengthened relationships with chiefs and landowners. Additionally, Vasu highlighted how Nata has improved the organisation’s corporate structure, increased job security, promoted capacity building, diversified landowner investments, and facilitated TLTB property acquisitions, among other significant initiatives.
Moving ahead, under the Board’s guidance, Nata is expected to lead crucial reforms to transform the TLTB to better cater to landowning units and to meet the organisation’s mission more effectively.
