Solomoni Nata Appointed as CEO of i-Taukei Land Trust Board After Successful Interim Tenure

Solomoni Nata has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of the i-Taukei Land Trust Board (iTLTB) for a term of two years. The announcement was made by iTLTB Chair and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu. The appointment comes following Nata’s successful stint as Interim CEO the previous year.

During his tenure as Interim CEO, Nata realized numerous significant achievements such as the establishment of the i-Taukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development facility, both aimed at providing considerable support to land-owning units while enhancing their economic options and promoting sustainable development.

Vasu praised Nata’s accomplishments, saying the board recognized major strides under his leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to further guide the iTLTB toward higher aspirations and successfully meet the board’s mandate.

Vasu further highlighted Nata’s contributions to the revision of laws and policies impacting the iTaukei people, commending his efforts at restoring faith and strengthening ties with chiefs and landowners. Nata had also improved the corporate structure, providing job security and upskilling management and staff via comprehensive job evaluations, among other accomplishments.

Moving forward, Nata, under the Board’s direction, will persist in leading crucial reforms aimed at overhauling iTLTB and aligning it more closely with its mission, while ensuring better service to landowning units.
