The Solomon Islands will be represented by two teams at the upcoming Melanesian Spearhead Group Prime Minister’s Cup, taking place in Honiara from December 9 to 12. This announcement was made during the official draw held at the National Stadium last weekend, as reported by The Solomon Star.

The tournament will include teams from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, in addition to the two Solomon Islands teams. The Solomon Islands will compete with their senior national team and an Under-23 side, both placed in Group A along with Papua New Guinea. Group B will consist of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Vanuatu.

The opening match of Group A will see the two Solomon Islands teams face off against each other on December 9 at Lawson Tama Stadium. In a parallel match on the same day, Vanuatu will take on New Caledonia. The event will also feature matches at the new National Stadium in Honiara, where the Solomon Islands will strive to defend their title.

This tournament offers a great opportunity for the Solomon Islands teams, especially for the Under-23 players, to gain valuable experience on an international stage while showcasing their talent.
