The Fiji Solidarity March for Kanaky (New Caledonia) and West Papua is set to take place tomorrow. The march will start at Rodwell Road and conclude on Constitution Avenue in front of Parliament.

This significant event in support of the indigenous communities of New Caledonia and West Papua is organized by the NGO Coalition on Human Rights. The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre, with the backing of the Pacific Conference of Churches and the Pacific Network on Globalisation, applied for the necessary permits to facilitate the march.

According to the coalition, the Fiji Police Force, Fiji Roads Authority, and Suva City Council have approved the permit applications for the march, which is scheduled to start at 10am.

Participants have been requested to comply with one condition of the permit set by the Police: no flags representing Israel or Palestine are to be included in the procession.
