The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) has made a pivotal decision by officially appointing Ratu Filimoni Soqeta as its new president, confirming his earlier role as acting president. This announcement came during a recent party gathering that witnessed the active participation of 316 members, showcasing a strong backing for the party’s leadership evolution.
In addition to Ratu Soqeta, Ratu Ramesio Qarau and Ratu Epeli Tuisese have been elected as vice presidents. SODELPA expressed its confidence in this new leadership team, stating, “They join our Party Leader, Hon. Aseri Radrodro, and Vice President, Ratu Jone Lesuma, to form a formidable team of young, visionary leaders.” This leadership structure is particularly timely as the party prepares for the upcoming 2025 Municipal Elections and the 2026 National General Elections, aiming to align with the electorate’s desires.
