The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO), Livai Driu, has issued a clear warning to social media users who are making threats, urging them to remain calm and trust the police to fulfill their responsibilities. He acknowledged that emotions are running high and called on all parties to stay composed, warning that taking justice into one’s own hands could worsen the situation.

ACP Driu confirmed that police efforts are underway to apprehend suspects, with one bouncer already in custody following an incident. He mentioned, “Last night, we apprehended one individual, and he is currently in our custody.”

A dedicated team from the Totogo Police Station is actively collecting statements from witnesses and parties involved in Namatakula Village. The ACP urged those connected to the incident to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation by providing statements and any pertinent evidence.

He stressed the importance of patience, encouraging the public to allow the police to conduct a meticulous investigation. “We are monitoring social media activity and will remain vigilant to prevent any unlawful actions,” he stated.

As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu reassured the community that the police remain committed to maintaining safety and security for everyone.

In a climate where emotions can quickly escalate, it’s crucial for individuals to remain calm and trust law enforcement in their efforts to resolve issues effectively. This reflects a community’s strength and faith in its institutions to foster a safe environment for all.

Overall, ACP Driu’s statements highlight the importance of collaboration and restraint during challenging times, promoting hope for a safer and more secure community as the New Year nears.
