Soaring Ambitions: Fiji Airways Poised to Transform Aviation Training

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that the $160 million investment in new flight simulators is a clear indication of Fiji Airways’ confidence in its future. During the launch of two advanced flight simulators, the Prime Minister emphasized that this initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing Fiji’s role as a center for aviation training in the Asia Pacific.

Rabuka noted that the facility is expected to draw trainees and pilots not just from Fiji but globally, further establishing the country as a center of excellence in aviation. He highlighted that Fiji Airways currently accounts for 65-70 percent of all visitors to Fiji and that its marketing expenditures worldwide surpass those of any other organization promoting travel and tourism to the country.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the improved training capabilities at the Aviation Academy will ensure the highest standards of safety and service, which are essential for enhancing visitors’ travel experiences. Rabuka emphasized that these advancements align with the Government’s broader vision for sustainable development.

Additionally, he remarked that Fiji Airways not only leads in aviation but sets an example in environmental stewardship. He stated, “This facility is a catalyst for economic activity, benefiting local businesses and contributing to the nation’s overall prosperity.” Rabuka affirmed that Fiji is a prime destination for both foreign and domestic investments and that Fiji Airways’ significant investments in high-tech infrastructure reflect the country’s strong investment climate, particularly within the aviation sector.
