A prominent retailer has emphasized the importance of maintaining personal and general hygiene as the flu season approaches. The Punjas Group has made a significant donation of hundreds of soap bars to students, promoting the critical role of handwashing in cleanliness and health.
Priya Kumar, the quality control manager at Ocean Soaps Limited, highlighted the company’s commitment to producing a range of soaps and establishing a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Lautoka that meets stringent Australian certification standards.
Kumar informed the students that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are specially formulated to enhance personal hygiene and curb the transmission of germs through proper handwashing.
She pointed out that handwashing with soap plays a vital role in achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals, particularly in reducing the mortality rate of children under five years old by two-thirds by 2015. Kumar noted that instilling good hygiene habits in children can empower them to influence behavioral change regarding handwashing practices within their communities.
