Four South American nationals and two local individuals remain in police custody following their arrest in connection with the seizure of over 100 bags of cocaine. Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed that as of yesterday, the suspects have not yet been charged and are still being held as investigations unfold.

The arrests occurred during a drug raid early Friday morning near Vatia Wharf in Tavua. According to Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, the operation was executed by officers from the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce.

This significant operation highlights the successful collaboration between local and international law enforcement agencies, underscoring the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. The authorities remain committed to thoroughly investigating the incident to bring any involved parties to justice and enhance community safety.
