Vodafone Fiji Bati star Maika Sivo has been given permission to leave the Parramatta Eels as he seeks new opportunities to advance his career.

The 31-year-old winger is currently searching for a new club, with his manager already in discussions with multiple overseas teams. Sivo has confirmed that conversations are ongoing with the Rhinos, and there are growing rumors about his possible move to the Super League and a reunion with his former coach, Brad Arthur.

Despite considering this potential transfer, Sivo has expressed a deep affection for the Eels, referring to the club as his second home. He has made a commitment not to play against the Eels out of respect for the support they have extended to him and his family.

“I will always remember that place from the bottom of my heart, especially my family; my kids were born there, and everything I know is connected to the Eels. My entire football career is tied to that club, and I will always cherish the great memories I have there,” he stated.

Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill acknowledged Sivo’s valuable contributions to the club and wished him all the best in his future pursuits. O’Neill highlighted that Sivo will always be regarded as a member of the Eels family.

While he navigates this transition, Sivo remains dedicated to representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the upcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship match against the Cook Island Aitu. This match is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:10 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium.
