Leeds Rhinos have announced the signing of Fijian winger Maika Sivo from the Parramatta Eels on a three-year contract. The 31-year-old athlete is currently representing his country in the Pacific Championships. Sivo has been a key player for Parramatta since 2019, recording over 100 tries in the NRL during his tenure.

This move not only brings Sivo to Headingley but also reunites him with Rhinos coach Brad Arthur, who previously managed Parramatta for a decade. Sivo is the fourth new addition to the Rhinos’ roster following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season. The club has also welcomed Samoa’s Keenan Palasia, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor from Huddersfield Giants.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the transition, Sivo stated, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he flicked me the message to ask if I wanted to come to Leeds, I said ‘I’m coming’. It was a big decision for me and my partner to come to the other side of the world but straight away we were excited for the challenge ahead.”

This signing marks a significant move for both Sivo and the Leeds Rhinos, showcasing their commitment to strengthening the team’s lineup for future competitions. With this fresh talent and stable coaching, fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead.

By fostering international talent, Leeds Rhinos are setting the stage for a dynamic and competitive season in the Super League. This strategic recruitment is likely to bolster the team’s performance and attract more fans to support their journey.
