Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo is heading to the English Super League after signing a three-year contract with Leeds Rhinos. Known for his remarkable strength and scoring prowess, Sivo’s transition represents a new phase for the Nadroga native, who departs the NRL following six impressive seasons with the Parramatta Eels.
Sivo’s journey from the village of Momi in Nadroga to becoming a star in rugby league has been marked by hard work and dedication. He started playing village rugby in Fiji and made his NRL debut with Parramatta in 2019 while staying connected to his roots.
With his new role at Leeds, Sivo reunites with former coach Brad Arthur, who played a vital role in honing his skills at the Eels. Arthur, now the head coach of Leeds, expressed enthusiasm for Sivo’s arrival. “I know he’ll make his mark here in Leeds just like he did in Australia. Maika is a proven try scorer, and he will add much-needed flair to our back line,” he stated.
Fans of Leeds Rhinos are eagerly awaiting Sivo’s debut with the team.
