Leeds Rhinos have secured the signing of Fiji winger Maika Sivo from the Australian club Parramatta Eels on a three-year contract. The 31-year-old is currently representing his national team in the Pacific Championships and has been with Parramatta since 2019, where he notched over 100 NRL tries.
Sivo’s move to Headingley will see him reunite with Leeds coach Brad Arthur, who managed Parramatta for a decade. He becomes the fourth new addition for the Rhinos following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, joining Samoa’s Keenan Palasia, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor, who was signed from Huddersfield Giants.
Sivo expressed his gratitude towards Arthur, stating, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he flicked me the message to ask if I wanted to come to Leeds, I said ‘I’m coming.’ It was a big decision for me and my partner to come to the other side of the world but straight away we were excited for the challenge ahead.”
