The Vodafone Fijiana XV team will witness a special moment as sisters Setaita Railumu and Adi Salaseini Railumu take the field together for the first time in their national white jersey.

Setaita, the elder sister, has been a key member of the Vodafone Fijiana XV since 2022 and has also played for the Fijiana Drua. Now, her younger sister Adi Salaseini is set to make her international debut with the team, marking a significant milestone for the Railumu family.

Setaita expressed her pride in her sister’s dedication, recalling her emotional response upon hearing Adi’s name announced. “I started bawling my eyes out! I am so happy to be flying the Fijian flag with my sister. It’s a dream come true for our parents who have always supported us since we started playing rugby,” she shared.

Adi Salaseini reflected on their rugby journey together, highlighting their victory in the Women’s Skipper Cup for Tailevu in 2019 and their time in the extended national squad since 2021. “I’m excited to join her,” she said, looking forward to making a mark in her first test match.

As both sisters prepare to face Scotland on September 15, with a kickoff time of 3:45 am (FJT) at Hive Stadium, they are eager to represent their family and country. Following this match, the Vodafone Fijiana XV will take another significant step by traveling to the Netherlands to compete against the Orange Ladies for the first time on September 19 at NRCA Stadium in Amsterdam.

Later, the team will face competitive challenges in the WXV3 tournament, where they will go head-to-head with Hong Kong China, Samoa, and Spain starting September 27.
