Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa has recently unveiled ‘Sip Society’, a new initiative that aims to celebrate the art of mixology at Hilton locations across the globe. This program highlights the dedication of Hilton’s bartenders, who are described as true artisans in their craft, blending passion and creativity to produce exceptional drinks.

The Sip Society’s goal is to create connections between guests and Hilton venues via social media engagement and exclusive events. This new offering builds upon the success of the resort’s previous Food & Beverage Masters campaign, which showcased culinary excellence in the Asia Pacific region. Guests at the resort will be able to enjoy a variety of signature cocktails crafted with premium ingredients aimed at providing a unique tasting experience.

One standout cocktail featured in this initiative is the Spicy Po’oi Margarita, available solely at Koro Bar within the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa. Crafted by bartender Zach Whippy, this exclusive drink draws inspiration from his wife’s Rotuman heritage, transforming the traditional dessert, Po’oi, into a vibrant cocktail. The Spicy Po’oi Margarita blends tropical mango sweetness, coconut rum, a hint of spice, and tequila, resulting in a drink that embodies local flavors.

Zach Whippy expressed his enthusiasm for showcasing these unique flavors, stating, “I look forward to shaking things up and sharing these unique creations with everyone.” Fellow bartender Lusiana Mocelutu shared similar excitement and highlighted additional signature drinks such as Cure Me Baby, Sunset Revival, and Coral Cloud, each designed to tell its own flavor story.

Andreas Reinhardt, the F&B director at Hilton Fiji, elaborated that the Sip Society initiative extends beyond just cocktails; it aims to elevate the guest experience by showcasing innovation and talent in mixology. “We’re excited to share this journey and bring something truly special to the table,” he emphasized.

This initiative not only enhances the experience for guests but also aligns with wider trends in the Fijian hospitality industry. Recent collaborations, such as those between the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association and Finest Liquor focusing on cocktail competitions, indicate a growing appreciation for skilled craftsmanship and innovation in the sector. The positive developments in Fiji’s local mixology scene point towards a promising future for tourism and hospitality professionals in the region, fostering an environment where creativity can thrive.
