The Kaiviti Silktails have made significant additions to their coaching, medical, and executive teams as they prepare for the 2025 rugby league season. Aimed at bolstering player development and overall support, the club is excited to introduce both new and returning members to these critical positions.

One notable return is Rusiate Ratukana, a former captain of the Fiji Residents SPG and experienced strength and conditioning coach, who will assume the role of assistant coach. Ratukana, who rejoined the Silktails midway through the last season, is expected to lend his expertise to the performance team, enhancing the physical preparedness of the players.

Ratukana’s influence has already been acknowledged by coach Driscoll, who highlighted his invaluable presence within the team. Additionally, the medical and performance team has been reinforced by the return of Sai Ledua. Recognized as the Jacquie Shannon Medallist for staff member of the year in 2022, Ledua, who previously took a hiatus for achilles surgery, is set to apply her skills gained through her experience with Fiji’s Women’s Soccer and Netball teams to support the Silktails’ medical and performance operations.

New appointments include Vilimaina Tuivaga taking on the role of head physiotherapist, while Sio Dickinson transitions to a consultancy position. Dr. Atul Anwas Lal will continue in his capacity as the club doctor. On the management side, Mereoni Tuinanuya remains the general manager, and Team Pastor Kemueli Salu has been appointed as the welfare and community engagement manager. Erami Vuleka will oversee facilities and maintenance tasks, while Driscoll will manage daily operations and communicate with sponsors and stakeholders.

Silktails chairman, Petero Civoniceva, reinforced the club’s dedication to fostering local talent and delivering comprehensive support for both players and staff. “We are thrilled to have individuals who truly understand the Silktails’ values and goals. With our new staff and the backing of our Bulldogs partnership, we are optimistic about our preparations for the upcoming season,” Civoniceva stated.

This strategic restructuring not only showcases the club’s commitment to excellence but also enhances the framework for nurturing players’ growth as they head into the future. The positive developments at Kaiviti Silktails mirror a vibrant outlook for the 2025 season, fostering hope and excitement among fans and the rugby community.

Overall, these appointments signal a bright path forward for the Silktails as they aim for success on and off the field.
