Police are currently investigating a significant drug discovery at the Pacific Batteries facility in Wailada following the discovery of 26 plastic bags containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine early this morning. The bags, filled with white crystals, were found around 2:15 AM by a machine operator who promptly informed officers on mobile patrol. The police were guided inside the factory, where the bags were hidden among a collection of old batteries.
Upon arrival, police informed the Investigating Officer and senior supervisors, with the crime unit also summoned to assist in the investigation. All 26 bags, along with seven old batteries, have been seized as part of the ongoing inquiry, which is expected to yield a comprehensive situation report.
This incident is part of a broader context of increasing drug-related activities and law enforcement efforts to tackle the supply of illicit drugs. Earlier arrests in Raiwaqa, conducted by the Southern Division task force, saw similar seizures of methamphetamine packaged in zip lock bags. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Livai Driu, noted the importance of public cooperation in providing information to assist their efforts in combatting drug-related crimes.
These ongoing investigations highlight the police’s commitment to ensure community safety and the need for continued vigilance against drug distribution. Authorities encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities, fostering a collaborative effort towards a safer community. As police efforts intensify, there is hope that such measures will lead to a reduction in drug crimes and promote healthier societal outcomes.
