Sigatoka town is currently experiencing significant flooding due to heavy rainfall that began around 2:00 PM. Drivers entering the town have reported extremely low visibility, creating hazardous conditions on the roads.

The Nadi weather office has responded to the situation by issuing a flash flood alert for areas that are vulnerable to flooding, including small streams in Vanua Levu, greater Lami, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, and Naitasiri. Reports indicate that the Nausori area is also facing heavy rain at this time.

As the community braces for the impacts of the weather, it is important for residents and travelers to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

In times like these, it’s crucial to come together as a community, supporting each other while ensuring that everyone is aware of the ongoing weather conditions. Hopefully, the rain will subside soon, allowing for recovery and restoration efforts in affected areas.
