The Tailevu Zone senior boys 100 meters final held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva saw a surprising turn of events as gold medal favorite Senirusi Rauqe from Queen Victoria School was defeated by Samuela Navitalai from Ratu Kadavulevu School. Navitalai delivered an explosive start, finishing the race in 10.93 seconds, while Rauqe followed with a time of 11.12 seconds, despite having clocked a blistering 10.6 seconds in the heats earlier.

In the senior girls’ 100m final, Litia Lala from Tailevu North College triumphed, clocking in at 13.2 seconds. As a result of these performances, Ratu Kadavulevu and Tailevu North College emerged as the leaders in the boys’ and girls’ medal tallies, respectively, after the competition’s opening day.
