A 28-year-old man faces charges for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against his 15-year-old niece.
These incidents were reported in the September statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which indicated that 10 individuals were charged with a total of 25 counts of sexual offenses during the month. The offenses included 16 counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and five counts of sexual assault.
Out of the 10 victims involved, eight were under the age of 18, with two being male and eight female. Additionally, a 46-year-old man was charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife.
In another case, a 20-year-old man was charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin. A 29-year-old man was also charged in connection with an attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, while a 20-year-old was charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl from the same community.
Two cases were dropped after discontinuances were filed due to a lack of evidence, as the victims could not be contacted or located.
