A 28-year-old man has been charged with the rape of his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old faces charges of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against his 15-year-old niece.
These incidents are part of the statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) regarding rape and sexual offenses for September. According to the ODPP, 10 individuals were charged with a total of 25 sexual offence counts during the month. The offenses included 16 counts of rape, 2 counts of attempted rape, 2 counts of indecent assault, and 5 counts of sexual assault.
Among the 10 victims, eight were minors under the age of 18. The victims included two males and eight females. Additionally, a 46-year-old man was charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife.
In another case, a 20-year-old man faces multiple charges, including four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin.
Another incident involved a 29-year-old man charged with attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his community, while a 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl from his village.
Two cases were dropped after the prosecution filed nolle prosequi due to a lack of evidence and the inability to contact or locate the victim.
