A 28-year-old man has been charged with raping his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old faces charges of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving his 15-year-old niece.
These cases were noted in the September report by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, which detailed Rape and Sexual Offences Statistics. According to the ODPP, ten individuals were charged with a total of 25 sexual offence counts in September, encompassing 16 counts of rape, two of attempted rape, two of indecent assault, and five of sexual assault.
Among the ten victims, eight were under 18 years old, with two male and eight female victims. Additionally, a 46-year-old man has been charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife.
In another case, a 20-year-old man was charged with four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin. Furthermore, a 29-year-old man is accused of attempting to rape and sexually assault a 14-year-old girl from his community, while a 20-year-old faces charges for raping an 11-year-old girl from his village.
Two cases were discontinued due to insufficient evidence, and the victims could not be located or contacted.
