In September, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) reported that 10 individuals faced more than 25 sexual offences. The ODPP’s monthly update highlighted that these offences involved 10 victims, comprising two males and eight females.

Among the offenders, a 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 10-year-old male cousin. Another case involved a 25-year-old man charged with both rape and sexual assault against a 14-year-old boy. The report revealed that six incidents involved victims who were related to their attackers.

In one particular case, a 45-year-old man faced charges for raping his 16-year-old stepdaughter, but the case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence. Additionally, a 28-year-old man was indicted for the rape of his five-year-old niece. In a similarly disturbing case, a 29-year-old man was charged with two counts of rape and one of sexual assault against his 15-year-old niece.

A 20-year-old man was also charged with multiple serious offences, including four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault involving his 17-year-old cousin. Furthermore, a 29-year-old man faced charges for the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, while another 20-year-old was charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl from the same locality.

Two of the cases were terminated after Nolle Prosequi motions were filed due to insufficient evidence, and the victims could not be contacted or located.
