A 28-year-old man faces charges for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old man has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving his 15-year-old niece.
These incidents were documented in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Rape and Sexual Offences Statistics for September. According to the ODPP, a total of 10 individuals were charged with 25 counts of sexual offences during the month. The offences included 16 counts of rape, 2 counts of attempted rape, 2 counts of indecent assault, and 5 counts of sexual assault.
Among the 10 victims, 8 were minors under the age of 18. The statistics revealed that there were 2 male victims and 8 female victims.
Additionally, a 46-year-old man has been charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife. A 20-year-old man is also facing charges for four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin.
In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man has been charged with the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, while a 20-year-old man has been charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl from the same area.
Two cases were dropped after Nolle Prosequi orders were filed due to a lack of evidence and the inability to contact or locate the victims.
