A 28-year-old man has been accused of raping his five-year-old niece, while a separate case involves a 29-year-old who faces charges of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against his 15-year-old niece. This information was revealed in the September report from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), outlining Rape and Sexual Offences Statistics.
According to the ODPP, a total of 10 individuals were charged with 25 counts of sexual offences during September. The charges included 16 counts of rape, 2 counts of attempted rape, 2 counts of indecent assault, and 5 counts of sexual assault.
Among the 10 victims, eight were minors under the age of 18, consisting of two male victims and eight female victims. Additionally, a 46-year-old man has been charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife.
Another case reported involves a 20-year-old man charged with four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin. Furthermore, a 29-year-old man has been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl from his village, while a 20-year-old man faces charges for the rape of an 11-year-old girl from his village.
Two cases were dropped after being termed Nolle Prosequi due to a lack of evidence, and the victims could not be contacted or located.
